Some Common Questions

We get to see a lot of practice out there, here are some of the most common questions we get asked here at Arinui.

* How many pieces of evidence do I need?
- It is about the quality not the quantity of the evidence. Think about a Y12 / 13 Art portfolio board. It is not everything but demonstrates growth and journey. However, if you need an indication, look at the excellent exemplars in Arinui under the Support Centre.
* Do I complete all the Key Reflective Processes?
- No – these are choices you have to help with inquiry into your practice. The “guided” versions are used by most teachers / leaders, particularly when they are not as familiar with forming inquires or they like the guided approach
* Do I need to fill in all the boxes inside each entry?
- No – as appraisal is appraisee-led, you have ownership of what and where you write your responses. The boxes are there with prompting questions to remind you of what the focus should be and to keep things on track. If you answer something in one box, you don’t need to repeat it in the next (if you have already answered it).
* What about the supplementary evidence?
- Remember this is naturally occurring evidence and artefacts for your collection and doesn’t need to be all of the things you do. These should occur through the appraisal cycle without a need to “manufacture” anything. Arinui helps you collate these and prompts you to ensure you have reflected and inquired upon them.
